Exposure to direct sunlight can cause many coloured or painted materials to fade. Damage due to fading is caused by UV light, visible light, heat (including infra-red light), artificial lighting indoors, humidity, and poor dye anchorage – but the first three account for 90% of fading.

Ultraviolet, visible light and heat all pass through ordinary glass and can cause damage to goods, fabrics or furnishings in your home or business.

Solar Guard’s fade protection window films or solar control films are specially designed to filter out at least 98% of harmful UV rays and reject infra-red heat but still leave a pleasantly lit living environment. Whilst no film can completely eliminate the effects of fading due to the solar spectrum, over 80% of UV rays, infra-red and visible light can be rejected with our extensive range of fade protection films.

Our range includes films which are ultra clear (once installed, the film is virtually undetectable), tinted, or reflective to offer a choice of fade protection performance and visual characteristics.

UV Rays

Costa Blanca has more sunshine than most places on the planet, 320 days of sunlight per year on average which is great when you live here. However there is a downside to all that sunlight and it’s the UV rays. In fact harmful UV rays are around even when the sun isn’t shining!

UV Protected Film

The result of all that unfiltered sunlight penetrating our windows is that any furnishings we have that may be in the line of the sunlight will fade and become discoloured through time.

Now we all want light to come into our rooms but how do we manage that without causing damage to our sofas etc. We could go and buy some expensive window coverings, fine if you have the money but most times they need to be closed anyway.

Another benefit is the reduction in glare once window film is installed. Glare can be reduced up to 84% allowing you to see out without having to squint your eyes. Window tint can also reduce heat in the summer and retain heat in the winter. Just watch how much that could affect your utility bills. All this can be done without spoiling the look of your current doors and windows in fact in a lot of cases window film will enhance them thereby making your property more appealing.
